The Bigger Picture..
The bigger picture in Gloucester City has been to make Gloucester a fair, just and thriving community, where no-one is disadvantaged. This vision has been delivered in part by the Sustainable Community Strategy.
Up until the end of 2010, The Gloucester Partnership, Sustainable Community Strategy directly linked to the Gloucestershire Conference. At that time, the county Strategic board arrangements were then reviewed and as a consequence a new Leadership Gloucestershire was created and by April 2012, after a transitional period, the LG would work towards being fully operational so replacing the Gloucestershire Conference. The Gloucestershire Partnership had a County-wide strategic view which not only addressed the issues of Gloucester but all other districts in the County. Bearing in mind the Government’s deficit reduction strategy, the Leadership will have a new aim of meeting the needs of the community in the most cost-effective way. Its role will alter from the Gloucestershire Conference, but it will still provide vision, leadership and strategic direction in those areas where it is vital for organizations to work together to meet the needs of the people and communities of Gloucestershire, again in the most cost effective way. LG will work together with others to achieve their objectives and reduce current costs, minimise future ones and deliver better outcomes for the benefit of the people of Gloucestershire.
Akin to the Gloucester Partnership, the Leadership will report to Central Government about the Counties performance.
