Background to document:
In January 2011 the City Vision process kicked off with a workshop event at GL1, residents, businesses and organizations came together to discuss various topics ranging from the environment to the economy. These initial conversations were married against previous consultation results and statistical analysis about the City.
These areas were slowly condensed down with the help of focus groups, until the first draft of the document was ready for publication in April 2011.
The document was consulted upon for three months over the Summer of 2011 and well over 1,100 people responded in detail with a further 650 informal conversations taking place at community events or public meetings.
In October 2011, a Headline Consultation Report was released which outlined the resident’s priorities from evening economy to healthy communities. This report can be viewed here
The final City Vision document was re-written in line with these priorities and formally launched and adopted by all Partners in February 2012.
Delivery plans will be adopted and published shortly but the initial launch programs are: Olympic Legacy, Deprivation Task Force and Evening Economy.
