Stronger Communities Group

Vision

The Group will work towards building stronger communities within Gloucester as part of the Gloucester Partnerships vision to create a sustainable community.

A strong community is one that is:

• Engaged communities work with and understand the services and decisions that affect them
• Cohesive communities understand and respect each others differences
• Empowered able to make the most of opportunities
• Involved communities are involved and participating
• Resilient able to cope and respond to difficult situations and issues
• Confident confident that change is possible and that the community can make a difference

Role

The role of the Group is to:

• To coordinate delivery of outcomes from the Sustainable Community Strategy
• Outcome 2.1 Communities live, work and play in harmony
• Outcome 2.2 Our diverse communities have a strong influence on the services they receive
• Outcome 3.1 Measurable improvements are made in Gloucester's deprived communities
• To develop a Equalities action plan for the Partnership
• To contribute evidence of and advise on the needs of the community of Gloucester to the Gloucester Partnership Executive.
