Community Grants 2000-10
Voluntary and community groups in the city are being encouraged to apply for grants for projects that can help improve the quality of life for local people.
Applications for community grants for 2009-2010 open in June. Many groups currently receiving funding will have it continued next year but around £35,000 is still available. There is no upper limit but most grants are expected to be below £5,000.
Groups can apply for grants for a range of activities that will make a real change to the quality of life for local residents. Full details of the programme and application process are on the city council website at www.gloucester.gov.uk/cgfp. Closing date for applications is July 31st, 2008.
Councillor Kathy Williams, cabinet member for planning and community, commented:
“We are working hard to ensure that the best use is made of this important funding. Gloucester has an exciting and diverse voluntary and community sector and we are looking forward to seeing the applications in the next round.
“A great deal of effort is channelled through local groups and we hope our funding will continue to help people get involved in their communities and build community spirit.”
